.cb COMPUTERS AND THE HUMANIZATION OF BUSINESS

As far as the ordinary citizen is concerned, computers in
business have almost entirely been used to do the old functions
more cheaply. The citizen has benefited from this, since otherwise
prices would be higher and wages lower. However, he has few more
specific reasons to be grateful for the invention of computers. A
paycheck is a paycheck and and a bill is a bill whether prepared
by computer or a man on a stool wearing a green eyeshade.

My opinion on the responsibility of computer professionals
to get computers more humanely

Computer professionals can best carry out their responsibility
to see computers used for the benefit of humanity by doing their
jobs better and by emphasizing the opportunities to use computers
to treat people more politely and efficiently.
